Originario de Naranjito, departamento de Santa Barbara, nació el 17 de enero de 1934. En 1950 se gano una beca para cursar sus estudios en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes en Tegucigalpa. Diez años después viajo con otra beca para continuar sus estudios en Italia, donde obtuvo en 1965 una Licenciatura en la "Academia di Belli Arté" de Roma.
A su regreso al país ejerció por varios años la docencia en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes. AI Maestro Gómez se le otorgo en 1976 el Premio Pablo Zelaya Sierra. En 1977 la Organización de las Naciones Unidas selecciono uno de sus cuadros "Las Palomas", para un sello de correos, habiendose hecho una segunda emisión en 1986.
Ha participado en muchísimas exposiciones individuales y colectivas realizadas en el país y en el exterior. Es expositor permanente de la Fundación para el Museo del Hombre Hondureño. El Maestro Gómez en sus 36 años de labor dentro del campo artístico ha ganado muchos premios, diplomas, menciones honoríficas y reconocimientos. En 1994 fue distinguido con el Segundo Premio del XIV Salón Hondureño de Arte del Instituto Hondureño de Cultura Interamericana. En 1995 recibió el premio la Corona de Oro José Miguel Gómez como homenaje de la Fundación para el Museo del Hombre Hondureño.

He has participated in countless individual and collective expositions taking place in the country as well as abroad. He is a permanent expositor at the Foundation for the Museum of the Honduran Culture.
Maestro Gómez during his 36 years of work within the artistic field has been subject to many awards, diplomas, honorary mentions and honors. In 1994 he was honored with the second prize at the XIV Honduran Art Gallery of the Honduran Institute for Inter-American Culture. In 1995 he received the José Miguel Gómez Golden Crown as homage paid by the Foundation for the Museum of the Honduran Culture.
Nació en Tegucigalpa el 1 de abril de 1943. Fue un destacado alumno desde su época de estudiante en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, habiendo egresado en la decada de los '60. Es considerado como uno de los mejores paisajistas de la escuela impresionista a nivel nacional e internacional, figurando su nombre en la Enciclopedia Británica de 1986: "Los dos artistas hondureños más importantes en el Siglo XX, han sido el pintor paisajista Carlos Garay y el primita vista José Antonio Velázquez."
"En 1981 recibió la Condecoración Andrés Bello que le otorgo el Gobierno de Venezuela por los meritos alcanzados en su carrera artlstica. : En 1983 fue distinguido con el Premio Nacional de Arte "Pablo Zelaya Sierra" que le dio el Gobierno de Honduras. En Diciembre de 1989 recibió la "T" de Oro como el pintot del Afio, otorgada por Telesistema Hondureño. En la ciudad de San Pedro Sula se le rindio un homenaje en el Recital de Otofio del Año 1992, para el artista más prominente del año. Se ha destacado por su extensa, participación en exposiciones individuales y colectivas en el país y también en el extranjero. Sus obras se encuentran esparcidas en algunos museos o colecciones privadas, en galerías como la de William McAdoo en Santa Fe, Nuevo Mexico y en la Segebrush Gallery en Sanibel en Florida, Estados Unidos.
He was born in Tegucigalpa on April 1, 1943. He was an outstanding student since the time he studied at the National School of Fine Arts where he graduated during the 60s. He is considered as one of the best landscapist of the impressionist school at national and international levels; thus, his name appears in 1986 Brittanic Encyclopedia: "The two most important Honduran artists in the XX -Century have been the landscape painter Carlos Garay and primitivism José Antonio Velázquez."
In 1981 he received the Andres Bello Award granted by the Government of Venezuela by the merits obtained in his artistic career. In 1983 he was honored with the "Pablo Zelaya Sierra" National Art Award granted by the Government of Honduras. In December 1989 he received the Golden "T" award as Painter of the Year granted by Honduran Television System. In the city of San Pedro Sula, a homage was paid to him at the Fall Recital in 1992 as most outstanding artist of the year. He has always distinguished himself by his extended participation in individual as well as collective expositions in his country and abroad. His works are scattered in some museums or private collections, in galleries such as William McAdoo in Santa Fe, Nuevo Mexico and Segebrush Gallery in Sanibel, Florida, U.S.A.
Originario de la ciudad de Gracias en el departamento de Lempira, nació el 27 de enero de 1941. En 1967 egresa de la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, graduó se como Maestro de Artes Plásticos. Posteriormente en 1968 realizó estudios de restauración de monumentos y centros históricos en Florencia, Italia. Su estadía en Mexico se refleja en la gran influencia del indigenismo procedente de la escuela muralista mexicana, regresando a Honduras a inicios de la decada de los '70.
En la decada de los '80 viajó España e Italia para continuar sus estudios y encontrar su propio lenguaj e de expresion, pero siempre conservando las influencias del pasado. En sus treinta años de dedicación a la pintura, ha cosechado muchos triunfos, pero quizá su mayor contribución al arte es la fundación del Taller Cerquin ,donde brinda orientación a los jóvenes que buscan la creación artístico a encaminilda hacia la problemática de la identidad y que desean formó en parte del entorco cultural artístico.
Sirvió como director de Artes Plásticas en SECTUR en el periodo de 1976-83; había cargado de las funciones educativas del Museo Nacional en 1984 y como Agregado a la Embajada de Honduras en Mexico en 1986. Desde su primera exposici6n en 1965,ha participado en muchísimas más, en el país y en el extranjero. Su más reciente exposición la presentó a principiaos de este año en el Instituto Hondureño de Cultura Interamericana.
Native from the city of Gracias, Lempira's Department where he was born on January 27, 1941. In 1967 he graduated from the National School of Fine Arts as Plastic Arts Professor. Subsequently, in 1968 he studied .restoration of monuments and historic centers in Florence, Italy. His stay in Mexico is reflected by the great influence of indigenous roots coming from the Mexican moralist school. Beginning in the 70s he returned to Honduras.
During the 80s, he traveled to Spain and Italy to continue his studies and to find his own language of expression but always maintaining the influences of the past. During his thirty years dedicated to painting, he has accumulated many rewards but maybe his greatest contribution to art lies in the foundation of the Workshop Cerquin. There, he brings guidance to youngsters that search for the artistic creation guided towards the identity problem and that wish to become part of the cultural- artistic surrounding.
He served as Director for Plastic Arts in SECTUR during 1976-83; he was in charge of the scholastic functions of the National Museum in 1984; and performed attache duties at the Honduran Embassy in Mexico in 1986. Since his first exposition in 1965, he has participated in several others in the country and abroad. His most recent exhibit was presented in the beginning of this year at the Honduran Institute for Inter-American Culture.
Nació en Tegucigalpa el 20 de junio de 1950. Realizó sus estudios en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes de Honduras graduandose en 1966 de maestro en artes plásticas. Se traslado en 1978 a San José de Costa Rica, don de curso estudios de especializacion que incluyen grabado artistico en la Universidad Gonzalo Facio. Fue miembro del estudio-taller La Merced, auspiciado por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras.
Se ha desempeliado como profesor de Artes Plásticas en varios colegios de enselianza media y en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes; siendo nombrado para el cargo de director de la escuela por casi diez alios hasta en 1991. En 1980 participo en la Primera Bienal Latinoamericana Mito y Magia realizada ell Sao Paulo en Brazil. En 1982 expuso individualmente en la ciudad de N ew York y en 1994 en la FeriaMundial de New Orleans, Louisiana. En forma colectiva ha expuesto en la ciudad de Washington en Estados Unidos, en Mexico, Costa Rica y España.
Entre las distinciones que ha recibido .figuran: Tercer Premio en la exposición Mito y Magia, Segundo Premio en el II Festival Pictórico Arturo López Rodezno, Tercer Premio en el Salón de Pintura 1986 en San Pedro Sula. En 1991 el Gobiemo Frances le otorgo la condecoracion de Caballero de las Artes y las Letras.
En 1994 formo parte del Grupo de 6 Pintores galardonados en la II Bienal de Pintura de Santo Domingo en Republica Dominicana. En 1995 fue seleccionado con 7 pintores mas, a representar a Honduras en el Festival de Arte de Centro America en Bruselas, Belgica y en 1996 formo parte de la Exposición Colectiva de 6 pintores en Taiwán, Formosa.
He was born in Tegucigalpa on June 20, 1950. He attended the National School of Fine Arts in Honduras moving in 1978 to San José, Costa Rica, where he took specialization courses that include artistic drawing at the Gonzalo Facio University. He was a member of La Merced studio-workshop promoted by the National Autonomous University of Honduras.
He served as Plastic Arts Professor in several high schools and at the National School of Fine Arts; thus, being designated for the position of director for almost ten years until 1991. In 1980 he participated in the First Latinamerican Biennial Myth and Magic held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 1982 he held an individual show in New York City and in 1984 at the Fair in New Orleans, Louisiana, U .S.A. In collective exhibitions, he has participated in Washington, D.C., U.S.A., Mexico, Costa Rica and Spain.
Among the honors he has received are: second prize at the Myth and Magic Exposition, Second prize at the II Pictorial Festival Arturo López Rodezno, third prize at the 1986 Painting Gallery in San Pedro Sula. In 1991, the French Government honored him with the award Knight of the Arts and Letters.
In 1994 he integrated the group of 6 painters that were honored at the II Painting Biennial in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In 1995 he was selected, along with 7 other painters, to represent Honduras in the Central American Art Festival in Brussels, Belgium and in 1996 he was part of the Collective Exposition of 6 painters in Taiwan, Formosa.
Nació en Tegucigalpa el14 de Septiembre de 1944.Realizo sus estudios en 1968 en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, desempeñandose después como Profesor de la Escuela. Obtuvo ademas el titulo de Ingeniero Civil en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras. Se considera a Ezequiel Padilla como el pintor hondureño de suma intensidad dramática, más directo y más profundo de mayor coraje, que con el universalismo de su lenguaje dentro del expresionismo social nos ofrece una pintura de gran impacto, en que la construcción demerita el dibujo de linea para conducirlo al campo de interpretativo.
Son mucho las exposiciones en las que ha participado en el país y en el extranjero. Entre sus exposiciones: en 1992, esta la Exposición Individual en el Museo Unión Panamericana; Muestra itinerante OEA en la Casa de América Latina en Paris, Francia; Exposición en Galería la Raza en San. Francisco de California; en 1993 participación en la Exposición Colectiva en la Galería Arte Latino Americano en Miami, Estados Unidos. En Marzo de 1995 presento una colección de cincuenta cuadros en Galería Portales en Tegucigalpa.
En 1970 obtuvo el Primer Premio, Salón de Pintura de la Alianza Francesa, en 1983 el Premio Itzamna de la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes; en 1989 el Premio Único de la Primera Bienal Nacional del Arte de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras, en 1990 Mención Honorífica en la Competencia Internacional de Arte en Toronto, Canada. En 1992 el Premio de la Organizacion de las Naciones Unidas en el Bicentenario de Francisco Morazán orgariizadoa nivel cen.troamericano.poi el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y en 1995 fue distinguido con la Corona de Oro José Miguel Gómez otorgado por la Fundacion para el Museo del Hombre Hondureño.

Exposition in the Race Gallery in San Francisco, California, U.S.A.; in 1993 his participation in the Collective Exposition in the Latin American Art Gallery in Miami, Florida, U.S.A. In March 1995 he presented a collection of fifty paintings at Portales Gallery in Tegucigalpa.
In 1970 he obtained the First Award at the Painting Gallery of the French Alliance, in 1983 the Itzamna Award of the National School of Fine Arts, in 1989 the Unique Award of the First National Art Biennial of the National Autonomous University of Honduras, in 1990 Honorary Mention at the International Art Contest in Toronto, Canada. Sus obras se catalogan dentro del surrealismo y el expresionismo social.
Ha expuesto en varios países como en Venezuela, Panamá, El Salvador, Francia e inglaterra. Participó y fue premiado en 1979 en la Bienal Mitos y Magias de Sao Paulo en Brasil.

Este Maestro de gran trayectoria nació el 28 de Diciembre de 1945 en Chamelecon, San Pedro Sula, en el departamento de cortes. En los años '60 inició sus estudios en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes donde siendo aun un estudiante gano el Gran Premio Nacional del V Salón de Pintura del Instituto Hondureño de Cultura Interamericana.
En 1968 viajó a España residiendo por más de 20 años en Barcelona y Cataluña, en donde logro consolidar su trayectoria artistica, exponiendo en prestigiadas y reconocidas galerías de arte. En exposiciones individuales en la Galería Taller de Picasso (1971) y en la Galería Gaudi (1977,1978 y 1981) en Barcelona; en la Galería Arambol en Madrid (1986),en la Sala Vayreda-Olot en Gerona, en la Galería Xarxa D'Art-Tossa de Mar en Costa Brava (1992). Ha participado en innumerables exposiciones colectivas en su mayor parte en España y otros paises de Europa; también ha expuesto en Brasil, Estados Unidos, Venezuela, Japón y en Centro America.
A partir de los años '90 ha viajado con mucha frecuencia a Honduras donde ha presentado varias exposiciones en la Galería Portales de Tegucigalpa, asi como también en San Pedro Sula. Actualmente ha fijado su residencia en Tegucigalpa. Entre otras distinciones que ha recibido esta el Segundo Premio en la XII Exposición Provincial de Barcelona y Mencion Honorifica en el Premio Sala Clara de Olot, Gerona en España. El Maestro Sabillon esta considerado como uno de los más talentosos artistas de la plásticas hondureña.
This maestro of great trajectory was born on December 28, 1945 in Chamelecon, San Pedro Sula, Cortes' Department. During the 60s he began his studies at the National School of Fine Arts. While still a student he won the Grand National Award of the V Painting Gallery at the Honduran Institute for Inter-American Culture.
In 1968 he traveled to Spain residing for more than 20 years in Barcelona and Catalonia where he consolidated his artistic path exposing in prestigious and renowned art galleries. He exhibited individually at Picasso Workshop Gallery (1971) and Gaudi Gallery (1977, 1978 and 1981) in Barcelona; Arambol Gallery in Madrid (1986); Vayreda-Olot Saloon in Gerona; Xarxa D' Art- Tossa de Mar Gallery in Costa Brava (1992). He has participated in countless collective expositions mostly in Spain and other European countries. He has also exhibited his works in Brazil, United States, Venezuela, Japan and in Central America.
Since the 90s he has been frequently traveling to Honduras where he has held several exhibits at Portales Gallery in Tegucigalpa as well as in San Pedro Sula. Currently, he has established his
residence in Tegucigalpa.

Más conocido como "Maltéz" nació en La Lima, departamento de Cortes el 8 de Mayo de 1951. Se graduó como profesor en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, integrandose posteriormente al Grupo Vanguardia iniciando con ellos sus exposiciones. Tuvo la oportunidad de vi ajar a Mexico donde realizo estudios sobre grabado escultura, dibujo y pintura en la Escuela de San Carlos, regresando a su país en 1973.
Es un expresionista figurativo que interpreta la figura humana para sus fines estéticos sus personajes son autóctonos latinos que se caracterizan por su dramatismo y dureza creadora.
Son muchísimas las exposiciones individuales y colectivas en las que ha participado. En el exterior ha expuesto en todo Centro América, Panamá, Ecuador, Estados Unidos, Mexico y Brazil. En 1992 fue seleccionado para participar en la Bienal de Santo Domingo en la República Dominicana. En Mayo de 1996 fue elegido por la Galería Trio's para integrar el grupo de pintores hondureños que expondrían en la exposición de Galerías Expobienal Centroamericana de Arte en Guatemala.
Ha recibido muchas distinciones como el Premio Nacional de Pintura José Cecilio del Valle en 1978, el Primer Premio Xerox en El Salvador y Medalla de Oro Subasta Presidencial en 1986.
Better known as "Maltéz", he was born in La Lima, Cortes' Department on May 8, 1951. He graduated as Professor in the National School of Fine Arts, subsequently joining the vanguard group and began his exhibitions with them. He had the opportunity of traveling to Mexico where he studied engraving, sculpture, drawing and painting at the San Carlos School returning to the country in 1973.
He is a figurative expressionist who renders the human figure for his aesthetic purposes; hence, his subjects are self made Latin Americans who stand out for their dramatics and creative hardship.
The individual and collective exhibitions in which he has participated are countless. Abroad he has exposed all throughout Central America, Panama, Ecuador, United States, Mexico and Brazil. In 1992 he was chosen to participate at the Santo Domingo Biennial in the Dominican Republic. On May 1996 he was selected by Trio's Gallery to integrate the group of Honduran painters that were to hold expositions at the Biennial Exposition of Central American Galleries in Guatemala.
He has received many awards such as José Cecilio del Valle Painting National Award in 1978, First Xerox Awards in El Salvador and the Golden Medallion Presidential Auction in 1986.
Nació en el pueblo de Gtiinope, en el departamento de El Paraiso el16 de Julio de 1948. Realizó sus estudios en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes donde obtuvo el titulo de Profesor de Artes Plásticas. Ha visitado varios museos en Europa, en Mexico, Estados Unidos, Cuba e Israel.
Es considerado como unos de los más destacados pintores paisajistas del país, y caracterizandose últimamente por su inclinación hacia la pintura abstracta. Su primera exposición individual la realizó en la Galería La Botija en el año de 1968. Fue invitado en 1974 por la Embajada de Alemania y el Ibero Club Bonn para participar en la exposición "Cuatro Pintores Hondureños" que fue presentada en varias ciudades de Alemania. En 1977 fue seleccionado para participar en la Exposición en el Midway Mall en Miami, Estados Unidos y en 1980 participó en la Muestra Pictórica Hondureña en Mexico. En 1996 fue invitado a exponer en el Instituto de Cultura Hispánica de Madrid, España. Ha recibido muchas distinciones y diplomas por su participación en numerosas exposiciones en el país y en el extranjero.

Viajó a España en 1965 donde continuo sus estudios en la Academia San Fernando en Madrid. Tuvo la oportunidad de estudiar a los grandes maestros en los Museos y Galerías de Europa.
Ademas de su constante producción pictórica, se ha distinguido por realizar una eficiente labor en el Ministerio de Cultura. De 1970 a 1972 fue catedrático de Artes Plásticas en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras.
En 1972 fue distinguido con el Premio Ramón Amaya Amador otorgado por la Alcaldía de Tegucigalpa, y en 1988 recibió el Premio Nacional de Arte Pablo Zelaya Sierra, que es el más alto reconocimiento del Gobierno para un artista. En 1989 fue honrado con la Hojac de Laurel de Oro de la Secretaria de Cultura.
Ha participado en muchísima exposiciones en el país y en el extranjero, en las ciudades de Boston, Washington, New York en 1964, y al año siguiente en New Orleans en la Exposición Colectiva Hondureña. En 1968 en el Festival Americano de Pintura II Bienal en Lima, Perú en 1978 en la II Bienal Latinoamericana de Sao Paulo en Brasil, y en 1986 en la II Bienal de La Habana, Cuba.
He was born in Tegucigalpa on May 7, J939. He studied thru a scholarship obtained by his uncle, poet Daniel Lainez, at the National School of Fine Arts. He traveled to Spain in 1965 where he continued his studies at the San Fernando Academy in Madrid. He had the opportunity to study the great maestros in the museums and galleries through out Europe.
Besides his constant pictorial production, he has been distinguished for having performed efficiently his work at the Cultural Ministry. Since 1970 to 1972 he held a Professor's Chair for Plastic Arts at the National Autonomous University of Honduras.
In 1972 he was honored with the Ramon Amaya Amador Award granted by the Municipality in Tegucigalpa and in 1988 he received the Pablo Zelaya Sierra National Award, which is the highest recognition granted by the government to an artist. In 1989 he was distinguished with the Golden Laurel by the Cultural Ministry.
He has participated in countless expositions in the country as well as abroad. Among the latter category in the cities of Boston, Washington, D.C.; New York in 1964 and the following year in New Orleans at the Honduran Collective Exposition; in 1968 at the Painting American Festival II Biennial in Lima, Peru; in 1978 at the II Latin American Biennial of Sao Paulo in Brazil; and in 1986 at the II Biennial in Havana, Cuba.
Originario de Olanchito en el departamento de Yoro, nació el 18 de Octubre de 1955. En los años '80 viajó a los Estados Unidos, donde realizo sus estudios en la Escuela Superior de Dibujo en Los Angeles, California. Recibió también cursos sobre serigrafía, acuarela, desafió artesanal y arte precolombino.
En 1986 regreso al país radicandose en Tegucigalpa y se incorporo al Estudio del Maestro Dante Lazzaroni. La obra de este artista se desarrolla en un movimiento de búsqueda de nuevos retos dentro de la neo-figurativo.
Ha participado en varias exposiciones colectivas a nivel nacional e internacional. En 1984 expuso en el Instituto de Cultura Hispánica en Houston, Texas; en 1986 en la Galería de Mario en Dallas, Texas y en la II Bienal de Pintura en The Internacional Exposición en Tsukupa, Japón. En Octubre de 1995 participo en la Exposición del Museo de Me Moderno en Mexico.
Entre sus distinciones recibidas ellos han otorgado: la Mención Honorífica del Centro Cultural San Pedro Sula, tercer premio a nivel nacional "La Nueva Pintura" otorgado por IHADFA en 1993 en Honduras. Pergamino y Medalla otorgado por Internacional Exposición en Tsukupa, Japón.
He comes from Olanchito, Yoro's Department and he was born on October 18, 1955. During the 80s he traveled to the United States where he studied at the Higher School for Drawing in Los Angeles, California. He also studied silks-sreen process, water colors, artisan design and pre-Columbian art.
In 1986 he returned to the country residing in Tegucigalpa and incorporated himself to Maestro Dante Lazzaroni's Studio. The work of this artist is developed in a movement of search within the neo-figurative expecting to find new challenges.
He has participated in several collective exhibits at national and international levels. In 1984 he exposed at the Hispanic Cultural Institute in Houston, Texas, in 1986 at Mario's Gallery in Dallas, Texas and in the II Biennial of Painting at the International Exposition in Tsukupa, Japan. In October 1995 he participated in the Museum of Modern Art's Exposition in Mexico.
Among the honors he has been subject to are: the Honorary Mention of San Pedro Sula's Cultural Centre, third prize at national Level "The New Painting" granted by IHADFA in Honduras (1993), and Diploma and Medal granted by International Exposition in Tsukupa, Japan.
Originario del pueblo de Caridad en el departamento de Valle, nació el 25 de Agosto de 1947. Realizó sus estudios en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes y fue miembro del Taller de la Merced. Se empezó a destacar como un pintor de un nuevo lenguaje propio desde 1968, obteniendo el Primer Premio de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras y después en 1975 ganó el Gran Premio del Banco Central de Honduras. Fue Primer Premio Banco Atlántida en 1977 y Primer Premio Cervecería Hondureña en San Pedro Sula en 1986.
En la década de los '80 fundó su propia galería llamada "Estudio Cinco"; Es un artista que goza de mucho prestigio tanto en Honduras como en el exterior, considerandosele como uno de los pintores más completos del país. Ellos han exhibido sus abras en Estados Unidos, Mexico, Centro y Sur América y en algunos paises europeos.
Sus más recientes exposiciones han sido en la Galería Plástica Contemporánea en Guatemala en Marzo de 1996 y la que presento en diciembre de 1996 en la Casa de America Latina de Bruselas en Bélgica.
Native from the town of Caridad, Valle's Department where he was born on August 25, 1947. He studied at the National School of Fine Arts and was a member to Workshop Studio La Merced. He began to stand out in 1938 as a painter who relates in his own new language when obtaining the First Prize at the National Autonomous University of Honduras. Subsequently, in 1975 he won the Grand Prize of the Central Bank of Honduras. In 1977 he was honored with the First Prize in Banco Atlantida and the First Prize Honduran Beer in San Pedro Sula (1986).
During the 80s he founded his own gallery called "Studio Five". He is a highly renowned and prestigious artist in Honduras as well as abroad; and is hence, considered as one of the most complete painters of the country. His works have been exhibited in the United States, Mexico, Central and South America and in some European countries.
He has had expositions held at the Contemporary Plastic Art Gallery in Guatemala in March 1996 and the one he presented in December 1996 at Latin American House in Bruxelles, Belgium.

Fue miembro del Taller de pintura de "La Merced" en 1970 y del Taller "Dante Lazzaroni" en 1980. Entre los años de 1984 y 1989 desarrollo sus conocimientos técnico sobre murales con los artistas chicanos de Los Angeles en California.
Ha participado en muchas exposiciones tanto nacionales como internacionales. Expuso en la Bienal "Mitos y Magias" en Sao Paulo, Brasil en 1979. En 1984 en la Feria Mundial de Nueva Orleans pinto un mural viajando después a Los Angeles, California a trabajar en dos murales mas.
Participo en la Primera Bienal de Pintando Centroamericana en San Pedro Sula, donde fue distinguido con el tercer premio. Formó parte de la muestra colectiva que se presento en el Museo de Arte Moderno Latinoamericano patrocinado por la Organización de Estados Americanos en la ciudad de Washington, Estados Unidos. Su más reciente exposición en Casa Yarumela en Valle de Angeles, poblado cercano a Tegucigalpa.
He was born in Tegucigalpa on June 6, 1948. He studied at the National School of Fine Arts where he graduated as Plastic Arts Professor in 1966; hence, participating since he was a student in several collective expositions.
He was a member of Workshop Studio "La Merced" in 1970 and Dante Lazzaroni's Workshop in 1980. Between the years 1984 and 1989 he developed his technical knowledge about murals with Chicano artists from Los Angeles in California.
He has participated in many national as well as international expositions. He exhibited at "Myth and Magic" Biennial in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1979. In 1984 at the World Fair of New Orleans where he painted a mural; subsequently, he traveled to Los Angeles, California to work on two more murals.
He was chosen to participate at the First Central American Painting Biennial in San Pedro Sula where he was honored with the Third Prize. He integrated a collective show that was presented at the Latin American Museum of Modern Art sponsored by the American States Organization in Washington City, United States. His most recent exposition was held in Yarumela House at Valle de Angeles, a small town close to Tegucigalpa.
El Maestro Mario Miguel Castillo Cárcamo nació en la ciudad de San Pedro Sula el 7 de diciembre de 1935. Después de finalizar sus estudios de escuela secundaria, fueron descubiertas sus aptitudes hacia la pintura por el profesor Jean Batiste Delagis, quien le organizo su primera exposición antes de su partida hacia Italia. Después de finalizar sus estudios en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Roma retornó a Honduras, siendo nombrado Director de la Escuela de Bellas Artes.
En la década de los '70 vuelve a Europa con el cargo de Agregado Cultural de España, aprovechando para profundizar más sus estudios con algunos maestros españoles. Después de una permanencia de varios años en Madrid, regresa a su país incorporandose con gran interés al desarrollo de la pintura histórica, realizando el gran proyecto del Salón de Retratos del Congreso Nacional y la Colección de los Retratos de los Presidentes. Es considerado por los críticos como el mejor retratista de Honduras.
El Maestro Castillo ha expuesto desde 1951, siendo su labor continua ha participado en innumerables exposiciones dentro y ruera de Honduras. Es expositor permanente del Museo del Hombre Hondureño. Entre sus muchos merecidos reconocimientos figuran la Mención Honorífica en el Primer Salón Anual de Pintura; diploma concedido en el Primer Concurso de Pintura por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras; el Gran Premio del IV Salón Anual de Pintura en Tegucigalpa; la Medalla de San Vito Romero concedida en Italia. En 1995 fue distinguido con la Corona de Oro José Miguel Gómez por la Fundación para el Museo del Hombre Hondureño. En Mayo de 1996 fue seleccionado por la Galería de Trío para participar en la Exposición de Galerías Expo-bienal Centroamericana de Arte en Guatemala.
Maestro Mario Miguel Castillo Cárcamo was born in San Pedro Sula on December 7, 1935. After completing his high school studies, his aptitude for painting was discovered by Italian Professor Jean Batiste Delagis, who organized his first exposition. After completing his studies at the Fine Arts Academy in Rome he returned to Honduras as the designated Director for the National School of Fine Arts.
During the 70s he returns to Europe as the Spanish Cultural Attache where he further advanced his studies with several Spanish maestros. After a long stay in Madrid, he returned to Honduras and engrossed himself with the study of historic painting. This lead to undertaking a distinguished project for the National Congress' Gallery of Portraits with the Portrait Collection of Presidents. He is considered by critics as being the best portrait artist in Honduras.
Maestro Castillo has held expositions since 1951. He has continuously and actively participated in a myriad of exhibitions for Honduras and other countries. He is a permanent expositor at the Foundation for the Museum of the Honduran Culture. Among his well deserved awards are the Honorary Mention in the First Annual Gallery for Painting; diploma granted in the First Painting Contest by the National Autonomous University of Honduras; the Great Prize of the IV Annual Gallery for Painting in Tegucigalpa; and the San Vito Romero Medal granted in Italy. In 1995 he received the José Miguel Gómez Golden Crown granted by the foundation for the Museum of the Honduran Culture. On May 1996 he was chosen by Trio's Gallery to participate at the Biennial Exposition of Central American Galleries in Guatemala.
Originario de La Lima en el departamento de cortes, nació el 8 de Febrero de 1936. Inició sus estudios sobre pintura en 1960 en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes y en 1971 recibió clases de dibujo y pintura en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras.
Se trasladó a California, Estados Unidos en 1982, estudiando un curso de Dibujo humorístico en la Escuela Superior de Dibujo.

Nació en Dulce Nombre de Copan el 26 de diciembre de 1926. Este pintor que egreso en 1948 de la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, tuvo la oportunidad de completar su formación académica en Italia, estudiando en la Academia de Roma con los maestros Franco Gentilini y Mario Rivosecchi. Concluidos sus estudios se estableció en Milán, donde fundó una galería de arte con el proposito de dar a conocer la pintura hispanoamericana. Después de vivir por muchos años en Italia decidió en 1995 regresar a Honduras.
Ha realizado 12 exposiciones individuales y ha participado en 95 muestras colectivas en distintos países de Europa y América. Ha expuesto en las principales galerías de Italia como la "Fontanella" Roma en 1956, Galería de Maya de Milán en 1963, Galería "Possi" en Novara en 1967, Galería "Fundazione Europea" en Milán en 1974, en la Galería "Modigliani" en 1979. Recibió muchos premios y varias distinciones en Italia. En 1987 fue galardonado con el Premio Marconi, uno de los más importantes en el campo artístico en Italia. En su país se le otorgo en 1995, la Corona de Oro José Miguel Gómez por la Fundación para el Museo del Hombre Hondureño.
En Mayo de 1996 fue seleccionado por la Galería de Trío para participar en la Exposición de Galerías Expobienal Centroamericana realizada en Guatemala. El Maestro Becerra es expositor permanente de la Fundación para el Museo del Hombre Hondureño.
He was born in Dulce Nombre de Copan on December 26, 1926. This painter, who graduated in 1948 from the National School of Fine Arts, took the opportunity I to complete his academic education in Italy where he studied at the Academy in Rome with Maestros Franco Gentilini and Mario Rivosecchi. Once he finished his studies, he settled in Milan and founded an art gallery with the purpose of promoting Hispanic American paintings. After many years living in Italy he decided in 1995 to return to Honduras.
He has held 12 individual expositions and has participated in 95 collective shows in different countries of Europe and America. He has held expositions in Italy's main galleries such as Fontanella in Rome in 1956, Maya Gallery of Milan in 1963, Possi Gallery in Novara on 1967, "Fundazione Europea" Gallery in Milan in 1974 and Modigliani Gallery in 1979.
He received many awards and several honors in Italy and in his country. In 1987 he was honored with the Marconi Award, one of the most important prizes in Italy. In 1995, he was awarded the Golden Crown José Miguel Gómez by the Foundation for the Museum of the Honduran Culture.
On May 1996, he was chosen by Trio's Gallery to participate at the Biennial Exposition of Central American Galleries that took place in Guatemala. Maestro Becerra is a permanent expositor at the Foundation for the Museum of the Honduran Culture.
Nació en el año de 1915. Inició sus estudios de dibujo y pintura en 1938, con el maestro español Alfredo Ruiz Barrera, encargado de la sección de artes plástica de la Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Tegucigalpa. En 1940 se traslado a la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes cuando fue fundada por iniciativa del ingeniero Arturo Lopez Rodezno.
Ricardo Aguilar es considerado como el precursor del arte vanguardista en el país reflejandose en una de sus obras un ensayo directo en el abstraccionismo.
El gozó de la admiración de sus contemporáneos intelectuales y fue el primero en incorporarse al movimiento del muralismo mexicano, en la escuela expresionista. Falleció a la temprana edadde 32 años.
He was born in 1915 and began his drawing and painting studies in 1938 with the spanish Maestro Alfredo Ruiz Barrera, who was in charge of the Plastic Arts Section at the School of Arts and Crafts in Tegucigalpa. In 1940, he moved to the National School of Fine Arts when it was founded by the initiative of Engineer Arturo Lopez Rodezno.
Ricardo Aguilar is considered as the pioneer of vanguard art in the country. One of his works portrays a direct essay in abstractionism.
He enjoyed the admiration of his intellectual contemporaries and was the first to incorporate himself to the mexican mural movement in the expressionist school. He died at the early age of 32 years.

Ingresó a la Universidad Pedagógica para recibir los cursos de pintura y dibujo con el maestro Virgilio Guardiola, terminando sus cursos en 1980. Ingresó a petición de este como ayudante del taller de las Artes Plásticas en la misma universidad.
Es un artista que se ha ubicado dentro de los pintores de lo histórico maravilloso. Incursiona ese mundo mítico , precolombino en donde el maíz se convierte en el elemento generador de vida. Los personajes surrealistas de este artista en una de sus ultimas exposiciones abordan el tema de los "500 años" desde el pasado, el presente, en perspectiva hacia el futuro. Ha expuesto sus obras en forma colectiva e individualmente, en varias galerías del país y en el exterior.
He was born in Tegucigalpa on August 24, 1957. Rolando enrolled at the Pedagogical University to receive painting and drawing courses with Maestro Virgilio Guardiola, finishing his courses in 1980. Upon Maestro Guadiola's petition, he entered as helper at the plastic arts workshop in the same university.

Nació en Puntarenas, Costa Rica en el año de 1943. Es un pintor autodidacta dedicandose desde muy temprana edad a sus primeros estudios sobre la pintura. Su obra es profundamente abstracta y muy rica en la aplicación del color. Se nacionalizó como hondureño desde el año de 1972, radicandose en Honduras.
Su primera exposición en Honduras fue en 1968 en la Galería Alexandra en San Pedro Sula. Desde entonces han sido innumerables las exposiciones en las que ha participado, entre las que mencionamos: la Exposición en la Galería de el Diseñador en Coral Gables, Miami en 1972. Fue invitado en 1974 por la Embajada de Alemania y el Ibero Club de Bonn, para que viajara con el grupo "Cuatro Pintores Hondureños"a la inauguración de la exposiciones en Bonn, Berlin, Hamburgo y en Recklinghausen en Alemania.
Su más recientes presentaciones han sido la exposición "Tres Pintores Hondureños" en el Museo de las Américas en Puerto Rico en 1994 y la exposición "Encuentros 95" - Un Negocio Interamericano en New Orleans en 1995. Sus obras han sido adquiridas por coleccionistas de Centro América, Perú, Argentina, Cuba, Japón, Israel, Taiwán, España y otros países. Entre sus distinciones obtenidas esta El Gran Prix Internacional D' Art Contemporain de Montecarlo en Octubre de 1976, y el Reconocimiento "Gustavo Torre" en Puntarenas, Costa Rica en 1972.

Nació en Comayagüela en el año de 1947. Desde edad muy temprana se sintió atraído por la pintura. Ingresó a la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, pero luego abandono sus estudios para vi ajar a España junto con su amigo Anibal Cruz.
A su regreso a Tegucigalpa realizo su primera exposición individual y ganó el Gran Premio del VII Salón Nacional de Arte y en 1970 el Premio del IX Salón Profesional del Instituto Hondureño de Cultura Interamericana. Fue uno de los fundadores del Taller de la Merced, considerandosele como un aporte muy valioso para el desarrollo del arte en el país. Por más de quince años ha tenido bajo su responsabilidad la cátedra del Departamento de Arte en la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional.
En 1992 fue distinguido con el gran Premio de Arte Nacional Pablo Zelaya Sierra, ganando ademas el premio del Centro Cultural de San Pedro Sula con una obra en homenaje al bicentenario de Francisco Morazán. Sus obras han sido expuestas en todas las galerías y centros culturales a nivel nacional. En el exterior ha expuesto en Estados Unidos, España, Japón y otros países
He was born in Comayagüela in 1947. Since a very early age he felt attracted to painting. He entered the National School of Fine Arts but left his studies unfinished to travel to Spain along with his friend Anibal Cruz.
Upon his return to Tegucigalpa he held his first individual exhibition and won the Great Prize at the VII National Art Gallery and in 1970 the Prize of the IX Professional Gallery of the Honduran Institute for Inter-American Culture. He was one of the founders of Studio-Workshop La Merced being considered as a very valuable contribution for the development of art in the country. For more than fifteen years he was responsible for the Professor's Chair at the Art Department in the National Pedagogical University.
In 1992 he was awarded the Pablo Zelaya Sierra Great National Art Prize also winning the prize from San Pedro Sula's Cultural Center with one of his works as homage to Francisco Morazan's bicentennial. His works have been exposed in all the galleries and cultural centers at the national level. Abroad he has held exhibitions in United States, Spain, Japan and other countries.
