Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica Tour Itinerary

Itinerary:

Tegucigalpa, Honduras: our starting point, it is the capital of Honduras, with plenty to offer, including the cathedral, central plaza, museums, parks, shopping districts and fine restaurants.

Valle de Angeles, Ojojona, Santa Lucia: three small, quaint towns located in the hills surrounding Tegucigalpa, each offering peaceful plazas, quiet narrow streets, and plenty of local crafts, such as woodwork, basketry, ceramics, leatherwork and paintings.

Granada, Nicaragua: Nicaragua's oldest colonial city, its charming quiet streets are lined with Spanish-style houses, boasting intricately carved wooden doors and peaceful interior patios.  Located on the Lago de Nicaragua, it also offers a lakefront park and beaches, boat service to nearby towns and  day cruises.

San Juan del Sur: a quaint fishing town set on a beautiful cove on the Pacific Ocean, it has plenty to offer and is surrounded by stunning beaches.

Playa del Coco, Costa Rica: beautiful beaches offer rest and relaxation, scuba diving and other water sports.

Playa Tamarindo: a very long, peaceful beach, with plenty of amenities and activities to offer.

Arenal Volcano: located in the Arenal National Park and just south of the Laguna de Arenal, this 1,633 meter volcano is the most active volcano in  central America and offers spectacular sights of lava flows and eruptions.

Jaco beach: a beautiful long beach offers plenty of watersports and relaxation.  it is also close to the Carara Biological Reserve, a tropical forest with an abundance of wildlife.

Dominical: this small coastal village offers quiet strolls on its beautiful long beach, and is close to a national park and a biological reserve.

Puerto Viejo: this small town on the Caribbean Sea offers great seaside strolling, surfing and snorkeling, and is a prime location for visiting nearby indigenous reserves.

National Parks and Biological Reserves: safeguarding rainforests and dry forests, volcanoes and beaches, these protected areas abound in Costa Rica, offering everything from hiking to watching wildlife, and canopy tours to aerial trams.  We will visit several in between our other destinations.

San Jose: our final stop, it is the capital of Costa Rica.  A beautiful, modern city with a temperate highland climate, it offers all the amenities and conveniences one would expect, including great  museums and fine restaurants, as well as proximity to several National Parks.
